EveryStylishGirl Launches Directory of Black and Brown Editors, Writers and Stylists
For those looking to work in media, fashion and creative fields.
EveryStylishGirl, an online platform dedicated to amplifying Black and Brown women in fashion and media, has launched a directory of Black and Brown editors, writers and stylists to connect prospective creatives with companies.
Founded by New York Magazine‘s Social Media Editor Nana Agyemang in 2016, EveryStylishGirl hosts in-person (and now virtual) networking and skill-building events in cities including New York, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. Agyemang started the initiative after noticing a lack of Black and Brown voices in the fashion and media sectors, which now face a reckoning as employees from prestigious publications speak out about workplace racism they’ve witnessed and experienced.
Applications to the EveryStylishGirl directory are open to a range of professionals including writers, editors, stylists, photographers and producers. Those interested in joining can fill out a brief form on Google Docs that specifies their location, social media handle, website and other pertinent information.
Companies interested in utilizing the directory can choose between two tiers of monthly subscriptions, the first providing access to the directory and the second providing more comprehensive services including applicant screening and shortlisting.
Head to the EveryStylishGirl website to join the directory or sign up for access to it.
