LEGO Donates $4 Million USD to Organizations Educating Children on Racial Equality

“We stand together with the black community against racism and inequality.”

Following the global movement supporting the battle for racial equality in America, LEGO is the latest company to publish an announcement, declaring that the Danish toymaker will donate $4 million USD to organizations educating children. “We stand together with the black community against racism and inequality,” the statement reads, adding that the donation will go towards educating children on the topic of racial equality. After the tragic death of George Floyd, the world has rallied together to demand justice and reform, and education is one of the biggest factors that will encourage change.

The company is also joined by other giants like the Pókemon Company, who also donated $100,000 USD to NAACP and $100,000 USD to Black Lives Matter, following companies like Glossier, H&M, Instagram and more making donations to support the cause.

Read LEGO’s statement below, and for resources on how to educate yourself on privilege, see our list of helpful videos here. If you are looking to donate, see our post here.
