Nicole McLaughlin Is Raffling Off One-Of-A-Kind Pieces for Charity

Proceeds will go to Black Lives Matter, Black Visions Collective and more.

New York-based designer Nicole McLaughlin, known for her eye-catching works constructed of up-cycled everyday items and vintage garments, is raffling off several one-of-a-kind pieces to benefit organizations fighting systemic racism, including Black Lives Matter, Black Visions Collective and Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp.

“My fellow allies, we have a lot of work to do. We must continue to fight with the same passion and energy that we’ve had these last few weeks,” McLaughlin wrote in an Instagram post announcing her stance and initiative. “We must continue to educate ourselves, keep the conversation alive, have difficult conversations, and keep each other informed. We must never stop the fight for justice and equality for those whose privilege was never even given to them.”

Creations included in the raffle range from a beach chair made from colorful North Face puffers to slippers fashioned out of Patagonia fleece jackets to an Arc’teryx backpack repurposed as an utilitarian vest. Raffle tickets are priced at $10 USD, and participants are encouraged to purchase multiple entries to increase their chances of winning.

Head to Nicole McLaughlin’s website to participate in the charitable raffle.
