Summer is coming to an end, and as September is only a few days away, we’re squeezing the last bits of summer inspiration out. We’re slowly saying goodbye to long, sunny days, and saying hello to layering, rain and dark nights, which is why we’ve compiled a handful of our favorite inspiration from our Instagram this week to stay motivated.

@mtv has launched a new art exhibit displaying the works of eight New York City-based BIPOC and LGBTQ+ artists: @blackpowerbarbie @bronson.photo @eumiel @evazar @brisseaux @zzdesign @jkey13 @waelmorcos. Situated at the Atlantic Terminal Subway Station, the presentation was put together by two MTV employees of color, Antonio Baker and Rich Tu, who were inspired by the Black Lives Matter protests at the Barclay Center this summer. @tylertmitchell shares the key to creating her styling mood boards. “I actually had no intention of making a shoe. I was testing out two new bread recipes, one self-rising (sourdough) and one with an active yeast. The sourdough never rose, so instead of tossing the dough out I put my creativity to work to turn the flaccid dough into art instead. I’ve always wanted the @bottegaveneta Lido sandals, so figured why not make some of my own out of what I have. I then broke it into pieces and fed it to the birds on my lawn 💕” Photo: @tylertmitchell

@james_films opens up about things he had to overcome as a digital creator. “As a digital creator, I am constantly pushing myself to evolve my craft and learn new disciplines. I started out as a filmmaker and photographer, and have recently worked to dream up imaginary worlds using 3D software. Kelly Abbot and Victoria Barrow Williams’ People Dem Collective has teamed up with UK’s @turnercontemporary for a series of three exhibition of over 100 protest banners. The collection features pickets with names of those who have been killed while under police custody in the UK. A one-room display, titled “Margate to Minneapolis,” has been inviting visitors to kneel for eight minutes and 46 seconds – the amount of time it took #GeorgeFloyd to be murdered with a police officer’s knee on his neck.
