Madison Beer Reveals New Song "Baby" With Steamy Music Video
Lifted from the singer’s upcoming debut album.
After having shared multiple teasers with fans over the last two weeks, Madison Beer now finally unveils her anticipated new single, “Baby.” Taken from the Los Angeles-based artist’s forthcoming debut album, Life Support, the song is a late-night anthem that boldly explores themes of romance, sexuality as well as self-confidence. In a press release, the rising star explains what inspired her to pen the track:
“Coming out of a dark time mentally, I inevitably had to build my confidence back up. Writing ‘Baby’ made me feel in control of myself and my body again in the best way. When I wrote ‘Baby,’ I was not only reminding myself that I can have what I deserve, but also warning the next person that comes into my life that being with me is conditional. ‘If you wanna be my baby,’ then know I’m going to be loud, quiet, wild, sexy, shy, high, low. I’m not going to apologize for who I am or shrink myself down anymore so if you can’t deal, then keep walking. I am regaining my confidence and this song truly makes me feel powerful and I hope it supplies anyone who might need a boost of confidence the same thing.”
The song arrives with an sultry music video directed by Drew Kirsch, in which Madison appears in a series of dreamlike sequences. Styled by Kris Fe, the singer is seen slipping in and out of a number of high-fashion looks, including a cropped blazer and corset look from Mugler‘s Spring/Summer 2020 collection and the now-iconic crescent moon catsuit by Marine Serre. In another scene, the songstress changes into a custom PVC mini dress by LA ROXX, accessorized with a chunky, gold chain belt from Chanel.
