Sustainable Label Ssōne Repurposes Existing MATCHESFASHION Items in Exclusive Capsule
Constructed out of upcycled deadstock fabrics.
Following up on its range of face masks in collaboration with the Wedel Art Collective, MATCHESFASHION has released an exclusive capsule in partnership with sustainable brand, Ssōne. Titled the “Re-Ssōne” collection, items in the line include repurposed MATCHESFASHION pieces that have been crafted from upcycled deadstock fabrics and feature intricate hand embroideries.
For this special selection of garments, Ssōne teamed up with a London-based not-for-profit organization called Fabricworks, which provides textile training and development programs for unemployed women. Those who were chosen to be a part of this collaboration had the opportunity to construct the items at home with the assistance of Ssōne’s team. Additionally, ancient Kantha techniques can be seen throughout the range thanks to the help of Ventures, a fair wage artisan workshop in India that transforms old fabric into new material.
