sacai Debuts New Nike VaporWaffle Colorways for Resort 2021
The duo will also release a collaborative Blazer Low.
Expanding on its wildly popular Nike collaboration, sacai has debuted several new sneakers part of the brand’s Resort 2021 collection. For the upcoming season, the duo will release the VaporWaffle in new colorways and introduce a collaborative version of the Blazer Low, a low-top iteration of Nike’s very first basketball shoe.
The sacai x Nike VaporWaffle is updated in purple-lavender and tan-mustard combinations. The Blazer Low arrives in two colorways: one with a white upper adorned with orange overlays and another in grey with green detailing. On the apparel front, Chitose Abe was inspired by the phrase “Love Over Rules,” the title of a work by American artist Hank Willis Thomas. Using archival fabric, Abe repurposed a range of textiles including glen plaid and nylon into athleisure (think paneled, patchwork-like sweatshirts and bomber jackets) and polished pieces including pleated skirts, wide-leg trousers and double-breasted outerwear.
