Art Collective CMMND Transforms UCLA Merch Into Streetwear
School pride, but make it fashion.
CMMND, a Los Angeles-based collective of musicians, designers and visual artists, has teamed up with UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) to refresh the famed institution’s merchandise. The group of creatives designed a four-piece, gender neutral capsule of hoodies and T-shirts that take a streetwear-inspired approach to school pride.
Granted access to UCLA’s 100-year-old archive, CMMND pays homage to retro versions of the school’s mascot on casual apparel that easily transitions from courtside seats to the street. A gray hoodie bears an illustration of UCLA’s famous Bruins bear dunking a basketball while a baby blue T-shirt depicts the character atop the CMMND logo. A waffled, raglan sleeve tee is splashed with collegiate lettering and lastly, a yellow short-sleeved sweatshirt is adorned with a terry cloth UCLA patch.
The CMMND x UCLA merchandise collection ranges from $35 to $75 USD at releases on January 31 at the CMMND website.
