Dr. Martens Rings in Lunar New Year With Jade-Accented 1461

Dr. Martens is the latest brand to unveil a special Lunar New Year-themed offering. Paying homage to Asian culture, the iconic footwear brand has updated its 1461 lace-up shoe with touches of jade, a stone that represents good luck and fortune in many Eastern countries.
Crafted from smooth black leather, the shoe is accented with jade green top-stitching and lace eyelets. In the same shade, Dr. Martens applies a circular pattern, inspired by ocean waves, to the heel tab. The curved motif is a nod to the meaning of water in Asian countries, such as China, where the element represents reflection and wisdom. A final touch, a jade pendant is affixed to the laces of the special edition oxford.
Dr. Martens’ Chinese New Year 1461 retails for $1299 HKD (approximately $167 USD) and will release at select Dr. Martens locations.
