Terrence Zhou Is the Designer Behind These Balloon Dresses Taking Over Social Media

Terrence Zhou, also known as @bad_binch_tongtong on Instagram, is the latest designer taking over social media.

Hailing from Wuhan, China and currently based in New York City, the Parsons graduate launched his label at the peak of the pandemic in 2020. His unique and avant-garde style quickly caught the attention of celebrity stylists and fashion publications, and has been worn by stars like Halsey, Olivia Rodrigo, Camila Cabello and Karlie Kloss throughout the past year.

The Balloon collection is one of his latest creations that have gone viral on social media for their fun, bulbous silhouettes. The gowns are pictured at the end of a hallway in the designer’s NYC flat, along with BTS videos of himself and his friends playfully bouncing around the apartment in the pieces.

“In our society, there are so many underlying restrictions. Dress codes are one of them. However, there’s no such thing online. When I post on social media, I can wear whatever I want,” Zhou explains in an interview with 1Granary.

See the Balloon collection above and below. You can head over to the Bad Binch TONGTONG website to shop some of Zhou’s more wearable designs, including body-hugging knit dresses.
