ORIGINAL STORY (February 2, 2021): Cardi B took to Instagram earlier today to announce that she will be releasing a brand new track this week. “My new single ‘UP’ drops this Friday! LETS GOOOOOO!,” the rapper captioned in her post.
Cardi’s latest project “WAP,” which features Megan Thee Stallion, went viral back in August 2020. The song currently has around 660 million streams on Spotify and 334 million views on YouTube. However, despite its success, “WAP” was not nominated for a Grammy this year. According to Pitchfork, “the song will reportedly be submitted next year as part of Cardi’s next album, but plans for her follow-up to 2018’s Invasion of Privacy have not yet been announced.”
