CL Remembers Her Late Mother in "Wish You Were Here" Single
“If you love someone, tell them now.”
Earlier this month, CL took to Instagram to remember her mother, who passed away from a heart attack on February 10. As a tribute, the K-pop artist has released a single titled “Wish You Were Here.”
“Thank you for giving me light, during one of the most difficult times of my life, with all of your kind words and the outpour of love,” CL shared on social media. “My mother, the most brave, selfless and giving person I know, will continue to live on through me with everything she has taught me.”
Released on her birthday, the heartfelt track sees images and videos of the musician in her childhood alongside her sister Harin Lee. ”Lately I’ve been thinking about us/Blowing smoke in the air, listening to Stevie/Not enough uppers, too many downers/Got my mind taking dares, and sleeping ain’t easy,” CL begins. She continues with the chorus: “What does your life look like/Without me there?/Without me there?”
Upon the drop, CL shared with her fans on Instagram: “I made ‘Wish You Were Here’ for my mom, my family and anyone else who misses a loved one. If you love someone, tell them now.”
