Rihanna and LVMH Put Fenty on Hold
The two have mutually agreed to pause the work on the label.
Rihanna‘s luxury label Fenty is being put on hold, WWD reports. The LVMH-led brand debuted at a Paris pop-up store in 2019, and has since been releasing a handful of collections ranging from apparel to collaborations with shoe designer Amina Muaddi.
Rihanna and LVMH have reportedly mutually agreed to pause the work on Fenty, following less than two years together. “Rihanna and LVMH have jointly made the decision to put on hold the RTW activity, based in Europe, pending better conditions,” the conglomerate exclusively told WWD. Fenty has been quiet on social media since January 1, and its e-commerce site will be shutting down in the upcoming weeks.
Despite the decision, LVMH is continuing to support the singer in her other business ventures, planning on concentrating on Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin. Additionally, Rihanna has been looking for investors to grow her successful lingerie label Savage X Fenty, which LVMH is now looking to get involved in. LVMH led a $115 Series B fundraise in L. Catterton, to help Rihanna venture into activewear and more for the label.
Although Fenty is put on ice for now, LVMH and Rihanna reportedly have multiple projects in the pipeline, so make sure to keep an eye out for any news surrounding the ongoing partnership.
