Acne Studios Taps LA-Based Artist Ben Quinn To Customize Its Musubi Bag

Acne Studios debuted its latest Fall/Winter 2021 collection last month showcasing post-pandemic-friendly designs. While we wait for its FW21 offerings to officially launch, the label has announced it will be releasing customized versions of its Musubi bag, which is a part of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2021 range.

Created in collaboration with Los Angeles-based artist Ben Quinn, the silhouette boasts the creative’s signature pulsating star print available in three different iterations. Hand-painted by Quinn himself, the first bag sports a tonal star with a rainbow-colored center, while the second style comes with a mixture of tonal and rainbow-colored stars. As for the third piece, the print arrives in the form of a fully rainbow-colored star. All bags are crafted from white leather and feature smaller stars on the strap.

“Lately, I’ve been sort of obsessed with the pulsating star shape, like waking up and rubbing your eyes and being transported for a moment,” Quinn shared in a press release. “What I hope people get out of my work is a sense of possibility in the idea that there is so much to experience here and now in human form. A reminder to live psychedelically, or maybe a weird dream.”

You can purchase the reworked Musubi at select Acne Studios stores worldwide on April 1. In celebration of this launch, the collaborative line will be on display at Acne Studios’ West Hollywood boutique as well.
