Nude Barre Offers Second-Skin Intimates in 12 Shades

Founder Erin Carpenter launched the brand to address the lack of color-inclusive underwear.

Nude Barre is the intimates brand pioneering color-inclusivity in the underwear and hosiery market. Founded in 2009 by former dancer Erin Carpenter, Nude Barre was born out of Carpenter’s struggle to find undergarments that matched her skin tone, a common complaint among dancers of color. In fact, last June, ballet dancer Briana Bell went viral on Twitter after sharing that Black dancers are often forced to darken their ballet shoes and tights with makeup and dye.

Expanding access to color-inclusive intimates, Nude Barre offers underwear, bras and hosiery in 12 different skin tones. Tights and fishnets range from fair to deep, and seamless thongs and briefs are available in sizes XS to XL. The brand’s website even boasts a useful color-matching tool so you can find your perfect shade.

Head to the Nude Barre website to shop bras, underwear and tights.
