Kim Jones Crafts Dreamy Ball Gowns for Fendi FW21 Couture
Showcased in a short film starring Kate Moss, Christy Turlington and more.
Continuing his tenure as artistic director for the house, Kim Jones unveiled his Fall/Winter 2021 Couture range for Fendi.
Like most brands, the luxury label showcased its latest range through video. Directed by Call Me By Your Name‘s Luca Guadagnino, the short film stars iconic supermodels including Kate Moss, Christy Turlington and Amber Valletta. “I have long admired Luca’s work — and, he is someone who, like [Pier Paolo] Pasolini, touches on subjects which are relevant to now,” Jones shares in a press release.
Set at the Palazzo della Civiltà Italiana in Rome, the video captures this season’s dreamy looks, most notably a series of ballroom gowns. The clip opens with a white, high-collared coat followed by patterned dresses styled with bold, silver ear accessories paired with wedged heels. Details including floral embroidery on sheer fabric and intricate lacework also stood out, alongside the collection’s star piece: a voluminous gown patterned with small fur petals.
