Celebrating “WAPIVERSARY.”
Megan Thee Stallion and Cardi B‘s chart-topping single “WAP” was released just a year ago on August 7, 2020. Celebrating the song’s first anniversary, the two musicians have hinted at a potential follow-up track.
“Wow I can’t believe Wappity WAP turned one today. It don’t even feel like it. What a record,” Cardi B wrote on Twitter, adding: “@theestallion we should do it again sometime.” Meg responded: “Happy WAPIVERSARY. Thank you for having me, I think the people deserve another collab… Love me some Cardi.” While nothing has been confirmed so far, it’s clear the two artists are interested in reuniting for a new release.
“WAP” swiftly became a hit upon its release, with a striking music video starring Kylie Jenner and Normani. The song got its very own TikTok dance challenge, which BLACKPINK member Rosé also took part in. Millions of dance clips later, Cardi and Megan performed the collaborative track for the very first time at the 2021 Grammys.
