It’s been a hectic couple of weeks for the fashion crowd in New York, with physical runway shows returning to the city, then the MTV VMAs and now the 2021 Met Gala. With the event arriving after multiple delays and cancellations due to the pandemic, fans are more excited than ever to see their favorite celebrities walk the red carpet in stunning looks. With a number of stars making their debut Met Gala appearances this year, here, we roundup what the first-timers wore to fashion’s biggest night out.
This year’s event — themed “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” — welcomed a number of social media influencers such as YouTuber Emma Chamberlain, who wore a golden dress by Louis Vuitton. Meanwhile, CL and BLACKPINK‘s Rosé became the first two female K-pop musicians to attend the event. Kim Petras arrived in a horse head-shaped bustier by Collina Strada, while Lil Nas X made an impressive entrance, revealing three different custom outfits by Versace.

Lil Nas X
For his Met Gala debut, Lil Nas X showed up in a total of three looks custom designed by Donatella Versace. The outfit change began with a royal cape, then a metallic gold suit revealed underneath. The rapper completed his dramatic look with a crystal-embellished bodysuit.
