
LVMH Invests in Aimé Leon Dore
Founded by Teddy Santis, the New York brand is beloved by stars like Justin Bieber.
Celebrity-favorite fashion brand Aimé Leon Dore has caught the eye of LVMH as the heritage luxury conglomerate has recently invested in the Queens-based brand, showing just how much the clothing label has achieved cult status.
Worn by It girls like Emily Ratajkowski and artists like Justin Bieber, the unequivocally New York brand effortlessly blends ’90s hip-hop references with a classic preppy aesthetic, resulting in an elevated and fresh take on streetwear. The label was founded in 2014 by Teddy Santis, the artistic multi-hyphenate who pushes Aimé Leon Dore’s vision forward. Taking inspiration from his Greek heritage, the successful son of immigrants infuses his designs with fishing caps and pants fit for wading in Mediterranean waters. Santis was also tapped as the creative director of New Balance’s “Made in USA” line last spring.
In a statement given to Business of Fashion, Aimé Leon Dore will receive LVMH’s support while continuing to operate independently out of its New York offices.
