BTS Member Jin Serves ARMYs With Solo Track, "The Astronaut"
Co-written by Coldplay.
Following teasers throughout the month, BTS member Jin has finally released his new solo track titled “The Astronaut.”
Jin — real name Kim Seok-jin — is the latest member from the global K-pop group to embark on a solo journey, ever since HYBE Corporation announced that the septet will be going on an indefinite hiatus as the group prepares to enlist in the South Korean army. The 29-year-old, who is the oldest member of the team, will be the first member to join the military after all promotional projects for his solo track have ended.
Described as a pop rock song, “The Astronaut” is co-written by Coldplay, who also played in the recording of the song. A mix of acoustic guitar and synth sounds make up the track as Jin sings, “When I’m with you, there is no one else/I get heaven to myself, when I’m with you/There is no one else, I feel this way I’ve never felt.” The song, with lyrics written by the star himself, is Jin’s message of love to his fans.
“The Astronaut” marks the second collaboration between BTS and Coldplay, who have previously joined forces on “My Universe.”
