Hilary Duff Says Publishing Aaron Carter's Unfinished Memoir Is "Disgusting"

“In no way do I condone shedding any light on what is so obviously an uninformed, heartless, money grab.”

Hilary Duff recently spoke about the disgust she felt towards the publisher of Aaron Carter’s posthumous memoir, due to hit shelves next week. Her comments come following an exclusive excerpt of the unfinished autobiography, published by The Post. The excerpt claimed that Duff and Carter “lost [their] virginity to each other,” leading Duff to share her thoughts.

“It’s really sad that within a week of Aaron’s death, there’s a publisher that seems to be recklessly pushing a book out to capitalize on this tragedy without taking the appropriate time or care to fact-check the validity of his work,” the actor reportedly told Daily Mail.

She added that “To water down Aaron’s life story to what seems to be unverified click-bait for profit is disgusting. In no way do I condone shedding any light on what is so obviously an uninformed, heartless, money grab.”

Duff was one of the first to share a tribute to Carter following his death, sharing that her “teenage self loved him deeply,” on social media.

According to The Post, the autobiography discusses Carter’s romance with Duff, stating that the pair became intimate for the first time “at a hotel.” The passage in question reads “I think it was her birthday, maybe her 13th, but I don’t remember. Her friends walked in, and we just yelled at them to get out.”

The book was reportedly co-written over a three-year period alongside author Andy Simons and is due to be published on November 15.

In case you missed it, days before his death, Aaron Carter spoke about his former relationship with Hilary Duff.
