Converse and A-COLD-WALL* Team Up for New Space Age Silhouette

Step into the future of comfort.

Converse is transporting us straight to the future thanks to its all-new Sponge Crater. Created in collaboration with Samuel Ross‘s A-COLD-WALL*, the limited-edition shoe is the first of its kind, full-body Crater foam silhouette. Taking the exploration of Crater foam one step further, the shoe aims to showcase the material’s unrivalled comfort.

The shoe boasts a mule cut made of only a few components, with the Crater foam making up the entirety of the silhouette’s upper. With a distinct focus on comfort, the shoe is complete with a CX foam underfoot, egg-crate style traction pod and a flat-knit upper, which aims to promote breathability. Finished with a spandex collar and pull tabs for ease of entry, the new shoe prioritizes minimalism and wearability, above all else.

First unveiled in 2020, Converse’s ongoing partnership with A-COLD-WALL* aims to reflect and represent the London subculture, with the experience of Britain’s working class community woven deeply into the ACW brand’s DNA. The Sponge Crater marks the fourth release in the partnership, following on from the Chuck Taylor Lugged, ERX260 and the Aeon Active CX – released earlier this year.

Converse and A-COLD-WALL* showcase the new Sponge Crater through a campaign that stars London-based creator Eva Apio. The new silhouette will be available for purchase from June 23 on the Converse and A-COLD-WALL* websites, alongside select retailers.
