Off-White™ Unveils Fourth Homeware Collection at Salone del Mobile 2022
Inspired by Virgil Abloh’s fascination with “taking the familiar and making it new.”
Off-White™ unveiled the fourth iteration of its eclectic homeware offering at this year’s Salone del Mobile furniture fair in Milan. Alongside the “Home 4.0” drop, the label announced a second collaboration with luxury homeware brand Ginori 1735.
Titled “Organic Feeling,” the new home collection emphasizes Virgil Abloh‘s affinity for “taking the familiar and making it new,” showcased through his elevated designs merged with seemingly mundane objects. Inspired by architecture and organic shapes, the collection aims to morph conventional silhouettes with conceptual layers and encourage reflection.
Standout pieces in the collection include the Meteor Chair and the Meteor Screen, both infused with signature Off-White™ symbols and cutouts. Each piece is crafted from birch plywood with natural oak veneer and features trademark fluorescent orange detailing along the hinges. The word “HOME” is plastered across oversized orange labels, a theme which is present throughout the collection. Elsewhere, the “Organic Feeling” offering includes a pair of round mirrors that feature the phrase “A MIRROR IMAGE” alongside a tabletop flip clock that is complete with the phrase “DON’T WASTE,” acting as a stark reminder of the world’s transient nature.
Completing the homeware collection is a series of curated accessories, including a transparent glass candelabra, three glazed ceramic vases and carpets. A square-shaped wool carpet is one of the most striking, inspired by the blue Off-White™ FW21 dress once worn by model Bella Hadid.
Similarly, the second installment of Off-White™ c/o Ginori 1735 focuses on remixing and reinterpreting, reshaping conventional items like vases, ashtrays and lidded boxes from Ginori 1735’s archives. Both collections will be available for purchase from the Off-White™ website.
