Pearl River Mart Launches Summer 2022 Collection

Putting a modern spin on traditional Chinese clothing.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Pearl River Mart has unveiled its Summer 2022 collection, offering pieces, perfect for the warm weather. Founded as the “friendship store” in 1971, the legendary Asian emporium is a New York establishment, providing everything from home decor and fashion to good eats. The store also features one-of-a-kind items, designed and created by Asian Americans.

Pearl River Mart’s latest capsule presents a fresh and modern take on traditional Chinese garments. The classic qipao style appears in the form of Euphoria-esque midriff-baring halter tops, while summer-ready brocade mini dresses beg to be worn out to dinner. High-collar plaid qipao frocks are an adorable option, perfect for picnics.

As for accessories, handmade laser cut earrings celebrate both Chinese and Korean cultures, while Covry sunglasses cater to those with low nose bridges and high cheekbones. Satin slippers have their own moment, presenting beautifully designed and ultra-comfortable footwear. Coming in a variety of shades from bright pink to neutral black, embroidered illustrations of orchids, as well as dragons and phoenixes decorate the dainty shoes.

Take a look at Pearl River Mart’s Summer 2022 collection in the gallery above. The store has locations in New York City’s SoHo district, the Museum of Chinese in America and Chelsea Market.
