Stephen Colletti and Kristin Cavallari Reunite To Reveal What Filming 'Laguna Beach' Was Really Like
The former couple spill the tea in their new tell-all ‘Back to the Beach’ podcast.
Stephen Colletti and Kristin Cavallari are going back, back to the beginning with their Laguna Beach-inspired podcast titled Back to the Beach, which premiered on July 19.
The high school sweethearts discuss the reality of filming the MTV show, which aired from 2004 to 2006. “Lauren [Conrad] narrates the first season,” said Cavallari in a teaser clip. “She wasn’t coming up with these lines. You go into a recording studio and they literally hand you a script. Like, I do still think she liked you a lot, and I think she felt like there was something there, still.”
Colletti then shared a bit of what fans can expect. “This is what we expected with this podcast. We’re gonna go through watching every episode for the first time in 18 frickin’ years,” he said before the Uncommon James founder chimed in. “But this is just the tip of the iceberg,” Cavallari added. “We have so much more to dig into.”
Cavallari, who feuded with Conrad on the series, revealed she wasn’t “portrayed in the best light, or accurately.” The former couple also discuss details of their breakup and reveal they were paid $2,000 USD for Season 1. “I honestly would have done it for free,” Cavallari said. “At that point, in high school, to me, it was more of a competition. Everybody wanted it and I was like, ‘I’m gonna get this show!’ I’m super competitive, that has not changed. So, when they told us they were gonna pay us, I was like, ‘Oh, my God, great!’”
