Mia Khalifa Stars in Aries' New FW23 Campaign and Photo Book

Introducing Sofia Prantera’s newest muse.

Mia Khalifa is an Aries girl, there’s no doubt about that. Her courageous spirit permeates everything that she does, and no matter what you know her from, you know that she’s a force to be reckoned with. It’s for that reason that London-based label, Aries, tapped the former porn star for not one, but two of its latest projects, including the new Fall/Winter 2023 campaign and an intimate photo book.

Designed by Jonny Lu, the Z-shaped book merges two varying bodies of work, one of which is the brand’s new preview campaign, followed by an intimate set of portraits of Khalifa. Titled Mia by Aries, the photo series was shot over multiple days in the seaside town of Whitstable and lensed by long-time Aries collaborator, Clare Shilland, with the FW23 preview shot by Conor Cunningham.

Showcasing the duality of Khalifa, the book offers a glossy, campaign-ready portrayal of the star, juxtaposed by a pared-back, intimate look at a day in the life, captured at Mia’s house on the coast of England.

“I felt immediately inspired by Mia’s ‘Punk’ attitude. She is strong but extremely humble, and under her glossy appearance here is a tough young girl who has had to fight her way through so much adversity. I wanted to capture her wild spirit; raw and unpolished,” explains Aries founder, Sofia Prantera in a press release.

The intimate portrayal also includes an interview by model, activist and writer, Deba Hekmat which touches on Khalifa’s love of London and the significance of her Lebanese-American heritage in her work. “I still very much struggle with my identity,” explains Mia in the interview. “I think that my values, my roots - everything about me is very much Lebanese, and I never want to lose that entirely,” she adds.

The Mia by Aries book is available for purchase from the Aries website now.
