Big Bang's Taeyang Is Givenchy's Newest Brand Ambassador
The K-pop star will be attending the brand’s PFW Men’s show this week.
K-pop stars are continuing to take over the fashion space with Givenchy naming Big Bang‘s Taeyang its newest brand ambassador.
This isn’t the first time the fashion house has partnered with a South Korean musician under Matthew M. Williams‘ direction. In February 2021, Givenchy announced SM Entertainment‘s virtual hybrid K-pop group aespa as its global brand ambassador.
Williams shared in a statement, “Taeyang is an inspiring artist — a music pioneer with an authentic, barrier-breaking way of expressing his own personal style, which fits perfectly with today’s Givenchy aesthetic.” Taeyang continued, “I am grateful to be able to start this new chapter of my life with Givenchy. It holds a special meaning to me, as Givenchy is a brand that has inspired me in many ways over the years. Matthew has also been a leader in both fashion and culture for many years. I look forward to the exciting ways to collaborate with Givenchy through this partnership.”
The news comes after a number of luxury fashion houses announced K-pop stars as their brand ambassadors this week, including BTS’ Jimin for Dior and BTS’ Suga for Valentino. Taeyang most recently joined forces with Jimin on his new solo single titled “VIBE.” With the new partnership, the musician will be attending the brand’s Paris Fashion Week Men’s show on Wednesday.
