
'Wednesday' Officially Gets Renewed for Season 2
As confirmed by Netflix.
Wednesday has officially gotten renewed for Season 2.
Netflix announced the exciting news with a video. The clip features a mashup of Wednesday Addams, portrayed by Jenna Ortega, in different scenes from the series as the character narrates with the following message: “Over the past few weeks, I’ve been hunted, haunted and mimicked millions of times across the internet. It’s been pure torture. Thank you.”
The streamer then teased what to expect, confirming the news. “More misery is coming. The global phenomenon will return for Season 2.” Wednesday the chimes in once again. She says, “Honestly, I wish I cared a little more.”
Wednesday has been a global success since its premiere in November 2022. In just a week, it broke a Netflix record, garnering 341.23 million viewing hours. “It holds the record for the most hours viewed in a week for an English-language TV series on Netflix,” the streamer stated. The show then broke another record when it became the second most popular English-language series on Netflix, reaching one billion viewing hours in three weeks.
