The Incorporated's SS23 Collection Sees The Beauty In Destruction

Indulging in “The Pleasure of the Ruins.”

Los Angeles-based brand The Incorporated goes back in time to discover the beauty within the wreckage, presenting its Spring/Summer 2023 collection, “The Pleasure of the Ruins.”

Navigating the duality of destruction, life and rebirth, Creative Director Mark McGinnis‘ latest offering brings levity to chaos. “It is the journey, not the destination, and while we all look squarely in the face of disaster, we can look around in wonder at those who are creating, dancing or otherwise enjoying themselves as the ship is busy sinking,” an exclusive press release asserts.

Utilizing the brand’s bold unisex approach, the collection’s garments marry the old with the new, delivering timeless silhouettes in graphic prints and futuristic colorways. Standout pieces include a dreamy multi-layered printed silk shirt that instantly evokes a sense of wanderlust upon first impressions. The top arrives with the image of a beautiful, expansive blue sky, interrupted by a bounty of flora. The avant-garde item features a flowing train with a split opening for extra drama and is made complete with matching trousers.

Elsewhere, a figure-flattering dress immediately turns its wearer into a Grecian goddess and is outfitted with a graphic of a gold cherub, elevating the gown to a streetwear staple. Meanwhile McGinnis transforms leftovers as an otherwise white hoodie is covered in wine stains, calling to mind memories of late night dinner parties.

Take a look at The Incorporated’s SS23 collection “The Pleasure of the Ruins” in the gallery above. The collection will be available for purchase on the brand’s online store in February 2023.
