Acne Studios Updates the Musubi Bag

Inspired by the Japanese snack.

Cult-favorite brand Acne Studios is ringing 2023 with refreshed editions of the iconic Musubi Bag.

The familiar accessory has served as a staple for the brand, originally inspired by elegant, traditional Japanese obi sashes, mimicking the garments’ trademark knot. The latest updates to the storied handbag includes a wealth of new textures and fabrics, also paying homage to the snack from which it borrows its name.

The Spring/Summer 2023 collection features an eye-catching design, mirroring vintage tie-dye T-shirts, adding a welcome casual touch to the luxury item. The edgy carry-alls arrive in two new colorways, an aquatic iteration alongside a sand and washed black version.

Elsewhere, a gentle light-wash denim covers the dynamic shape, evoking a subtle sense of nostalgia, mirroring our favorite Y2K school bags. The grown-up option, which is also available in the Musubi mini, features meticulous stitching and distressing, resulting in uber-soft fabric.

The SS23 collection of Musubi bags are available in Acne Studios’ select retail locations and online store. Take a peek in the gallery above.
