Matthew M. Williams Reimagines Givenchy's Legacy for FW23 Collection

Grounded in “confidence, comfort and empowerment.”

Matthew M. Williams reinterprets Givenchy’s legacy , looking at iconic designs through an updated lens for Fall/Winter 2023.

Williams paints the portrait of a positively modern woman, endowed with an innate sense of elegance. Strong shouldered jackets jut out of sharply tailored tuxedo dresses, exuding boss b–h energy. Elsewhere, tulle flows out of the hem of cinched blazers, resulting in a juxtaposition of masculine and feminine energy.

Meanwhile, sumptuous leather skirts with leg-baring slits, boast plunging necklines and floor-sweeping scarves. Intricately constructed beaded chainmail halter tops sit alongside dramatic sequined cowl neck dresses plucked from the closet of a ’20s flapper. Givenchy creates an intriguing sense of edgy glamour for its latest line, updating its timeless aesthetic for a more vivacious woman.

Take a look at Givenchy’s FW23 collection in the gallery above.
