JW Anderson and UNIQLO's SS23 Channels British School Uniforms and Sports Teams
Taking us back to the days of school hallways and cricket grounds.
JW Anderson and UNIQLO continue their roster of successful collaborations with another stellar release, this time taking cues from British school uniforms and sports teams.
The Spring/Summer 2023 collection aims to take us back to the P.E. classes of yesteryear, merging familiar school grounds with stylized uniforms and athletic clothing. The collection, dubbed “A Sporting Way of Life,” comprises summer-ready pleated skirts, longline cricket vests and cable-knit cardigans, interspersed with tailored AirSense blazers and striped shirts.
The preppy collection features menswear silhouettes too, offering straight-legged khaki trousers, printed shirts and polos, rounded out by a selection of hats and socks. Accompanying the release is a collegiate-inspired campaign, placing the reimagined school-wear silhouettes into traditionally formal settings of sports halls, classrooms and stairwells.
Essentially, the collection offers a slight departure from last season’s cozy, trench coat-fuelled selection, providing a vintage-inspired take on a summery school uniform.
