French multidisciplinary artist Melchior Tersen unveils Voyage Voyage, a new photography title depicting the promotional travel T-shirt (popularised in the ’70s) as the signature souvenir of an era of mass globetrotting. Across 424 pages, readers can get an insight into Tersen’s psyche, who claims in a press statement: “Sleeping in a tourist T-shirt allows one to dream.”
The limited-edition book, restricted to 1,000 copies and published by TOPSAFE, offers striking visuals by the Parisian creative captured over the years, which reflect his innate interest in diverse youth and popular movements of contemporary society. Voyage Voyage explores the intersection of travel, commerce and underground cultural communities with a subversive eye, featuring everything from New York‘s Joe Cool T-shirts to playful depictions of the Mona Lisa dabbing.
