TikTok's "Women In Male Fields" Trend Is Insanely Accurate
“This trend makes me realize I’ve never had a unique experience.”
A new TikTok trend has arrived and it’s all about the perils of dating men.
If you hear the term “women in male-dominated fields,” you’re most likely about to hear a story with the most insane double standards. This TikTok trend? Oh, it delivered.
“When he asks me what we are and I take his hand and say ‘Labels are so overrated. Let’s just enjoy what we have #WomeninMaleFields,” one user joked. Another laughed through the pain and commented, “I’m not reading all that,” a go-to response for fuckboys avoiding accountability.
As women chime in with their experiences, others are in the comments with follow ups to the f-ckery they’ve experienced. In one video, Marla Fritz jokes “He was crying in bed so I said ‘Here we go again’ and turned around and fell asleep.” A woman later commented, “I don’t know what you want me to say” while another said, “This trend makes me realize I’ve never had a unique experience.”
Sadly, the videos all hit toxic dating trends like gaslighting, love-bombing then ghosting and the invalidation of feelings. Unfortunately, the trend has gone viral for one simple fact: it’s relatable. Despite how sad it is, its undeniable that this is the reality of dating in 2024.
