On the latest episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, host Alex Cooper makes a case for a controversial dating trend: situationships.
According to Cooper, ”Summertime situationships in my personal opinion are in.” Where some might begrudgingly entertain an unserious partner for good sex, the podcast host says there’s more to look forward to.
“I feel like this summer when you’re on the apps, I just feel like you don’t have to be looking for marriage material. It can be fun, it can be casual, you just need to find someone you enjoy hanging out with.”
From New York to LA, those living the city girl life can benefit greatly from a summer fling. Telling the story of “rooftop pool boy,” a situationship before her now-marriage to Matt Kaplan, she revealed it was the “perfect” dynamic. ”When you live in New York City and you’re f-cking dry lizards walking around the f-cking block desperate for a f-cking Aquafina or a goddamn Fiji — you want water,” so naturally, “a nice pool sounds so refreshing,” she joked.
Cooper continued, “It’s not just for you, it’s also for your friends, right? My friend would be like ‘Are you going to see him tonight? Let’s hit the pool.’” Of course, she followed up with, “I’ll f-ck for the pool. And there I was with my four f-cking girls in our flip flops and our little bikinis being like ‘Hi we’re here for XYZ’ and the doorman would let us up and we would go to the pool.”
“Is it social climbing? No it’s just um… it’s just materialistic climbing,” she said hilariously.
