First Creative Director Ever? Ray-Ban Hands the Reins to A$AP Rocky

Featuring a debut collaboration launching in April 2025.

Ray-Ban is undeniably a staple household name. For decades, everyone has worn its unmistakable designs, and chances are, your parents still have their favorite pair. Lately, the brand has been dialing up its game, after introducing its Meta Smart Glasses with Amelia Gray, Ray-Ban is now taking things a step further by introducing its first-ever creative director — and who better to take on the role than A$AP Rocky?

The announcement also comes at the perfect time — right as the rapper puts a high-profile legal battle behind him and steps into a new chapter.

To kick off his new role, the 36-year-old rapper is launching the “Blacked Out Collection,” a fresh take on Ray-Ban’s most recognizable styles. This capsule features updated signature designs with dark lenses and gold-plated details, bringing a modern edge to the classics. Slated for release in April 2025, it’s only the start of his influence on the brand. Beyond eyewear, he’ll also be shaping campaigns and revamping retail spaces with his organic A$AP Rocky aesthetic.

“I’ve always admired Ray-Ban’s ability to stay true to its roots while constantly evolving,” Rocky shared in a press release. “I’m excited to be part of the strong heritage and develop the next chapter for an iconic brand like Ray-Ban,” he continued.

Keep your eyes peeled for more updates on the “Blacked Out Collection.”
