Vans Throws It Back With Retro-Inspired Super Lowpro Shoes

We unbox the ultimate cool girl shoe of the spring and summer.

Trends come, go and come back. With each new style subculture that takes over, there’s a piece of the past that shines through.

Vans Super Lowpro shoes draw inspiration from retro style sensibilities — think cheeky crop tops and baggy pants reminiscent of the early aughts — and archival design details to capture a throwback vibe that perfectly complements today’s viral trends.

Harkening back to Vans’ enduring heritage across sport and style, the Super Lowpro sneakers reinterpret the brand’s signature 1980s shoe line, Vans Serio, through a modern lens. As a new footwear contender sure to dominate spring and summer, the low-profile silhouette is an instant closet staple for low-key cool girls.

The retro-inspired runners – showered in shades of Racing Red, Fairway Green, Black, Marshmallow and a coming-soon Sepia Rose – have throwback accents, including zig-zag eyestays, a T-Toe shape and Vans’ signature Serio tongue logo. Vans remixes its staple sidestripe with a two-layer, color-blocked design on the silhouette, adding fun, contemporary flair.

While the Super Lowpro sneakers are replete with playful design details, including an extra low midsole inspired by running shoes of the ’70s and ’80s — like Vans very own ’80s Serio Style 84 sneaker — the silhouette has functional features that remain suitable for day-to-day adventuring. EVA foam throughout the midsole and wedge enhances flexibility and support, and a padded tongue offers seamless comfort.

Check out the video above for a closer look at the low-top silhouette. Experiment with retro styling trends with Vans Super Lowpro running shoes, retailing at $80-$85, available at vans.com and select retailers.
