If “back to school” season has you feeling nostalgic for library cards, freshly sharpened pencils and an excuse to dress like the protagonist of a coming-of-age movie, Cou Cou and Sandy Liang have a collaboration for you.
Marking Cou Cou’s first-ever brand collaboration, the capsule brings together the two labels’ shared love of nostalgia, femininity and everyday dressing through a playful edit of intimates and loungewear. Framed around the idea of “A Guide to Being Well Read,” the collection swaps traditional academia for a more whimsical definition of being well-read, one rooted in curiosity, imagination and simply enjoying the things that make you feel alive.
Photographed by Annemarie Kuus in Paris, the accompanying campaign takes cues from vintage catalogues and magazines, with models pictured getting lost in books including The Secret Garden, Kiki’s Delivery Service and The Little Prince.
The collection includes organic cotton pajamas, lace-trimmed Boxettes, a “well-read” baby tank and days of the week undies featuring playful illustrations. The exclusive “Sweet Dreams” print brings together butterflies, bunnies, tea cups, paw prints and plenty of bows for a dose of Sandy Liang-coded charm.
Made from 100% organic cotton and free from synthetics, the collection is designed for sleeping, lounging and, naturally, reading. Cou Cou x Sandy Liang launches August 27 online and at Sandy Liang’s New York store.
