Chopova Lowena SS27 Took the Coven Bowling

Celebrating the witches and spirits of Slavic folklore.

Chopova Lowena got witchy for Spring/Summer 2027. In its latest collection, the London label turned to the supernatural, celebrating the witches, nymphs, spirits and ghouls of Eastern European folklore, making a case for embracing your magic rather than hiding it.

Titled “Lucky Spirit Lost Strike,” the collection drew on Slavic figures, translating their mythology into dramatic silhouettes, from flowing capes and sharp triangular cuts to sensual black bodices, ruffled lace and intricate beading. The mood was dark, romantic and slightly feral, but never without Chopova Lowena’s signature sense of fun, with the show staged inside a bowling alley.

Otherworldly creatures also made their way into the collection, with faux fur and upcycled deadstock fabrics transformed into protective, beast-like shapes. Hoodies, cloaks and T-shirts featured Vampire-inspired symbols, finished with jagged edges and contrasting stitching.

But the coven had another unlikely muse: 1950s bowling champion Marion Ladewig. Known for breaking expectations in an era when women were largely expected to stay at home, Ladewig inspired retro bowling shirts, striped jersey leggings, lace-up dresses and boxer-style separates.

A collaboration with Dr. Martens brought the collection’s tough-girl energy to footwear, combining stompy silhouettes with Chopova Lowena tartans and faux fur. Meanwhile, dogs also joined the cast on the runway, because every witch needs a friend.

Together, the collection’s witches, athletes and supernatural creatures formed a very Chopova Lowena kind of coven: playful, rebellious and ready to strike.
