Vans has been teasing collaborations left and right, including collections with RETROSUPERFUTURE and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Now, the skate brand is teaming up with luxury house Vivienne Westwood for a new collection.
As a part of Vivienne Westwood’s punk-inspired Anglomania denim line, the collection arrives in six styles with two high-tops and four low-top sneakers. A postcard-themed Sk8-Hi is designed completely in monochrome cream, featuring an upper, sole and laces all in the same warm shade. The laterals feature a postage stamp, a postmark for the global release date and Vivienne West’s London flagship store address written in cursive. The other high-top sneaker in the collection is the Pirate Boot Platform. Decked out in black leather, the classic ’80s style features a stacked sole and a tan leather strap across the laces complete with Vivienne Westwood branding and a matte gold buckle.
A vibrant Vans Authentic sneaker lands with a bright blue upper paired with a white sole and laces. The shoe’s body is patterned with yellow and red lightning bolts and Vivienne Westwood’s signature orb symbol in black and white. To finish off, “V.W.” is stamped on the lateral. A rust brown-red Old Skool also features the same lightning bolt and orb monogram pattern in yellow, as well as the Vivienne West initials detail. Matching yellow laces add a pop of color and the sole rounds out the shoe in light brown rubber.
Vivienne Westwood also gives her own take on the classic checkerboard Vans Slip-On. She covers the shoe with her Square Destroy$ Map design, featuring a stark black and white checkerboard with “DESTROY” written in the squares in scribbled bold red lettering. Last but not least, the Style #53 loafers get dressed in all-black with the orb logo sewn on top in yellow and blue metal hardware.
