Get the Party Started With the New Air Jordan 1 Mid "Disco Ball"

An ode to 70s’ disco parties.

If the Air Jordan 1 MidBlack/Noble Red/White” wasn’t loud enough for you, maybe Jordan Brand‘s new “Disco Ball” AJ-1 Mid will be up your street. The trippy makeover on the classic sneaker silhouette is referencing the glitz and glam of late ’70s discos, quite literally resembling the gleaming, glistening ball you’d find in the booming discotheque.

This latest rendition of the model is unquestionably funky: the upper is made up entirely of shiny metallic silver which comes in a tile-like construction, overtly referencing the disco ball’s geometric construction, grey laces complement the sleek, silver look, and the red velvet insoles – paired with gold metallic Nike trophy graphics – are an acknowledgment of the plush ropes often found around club VIP areas – perhaps also a subtle nod towards the upcoming Academy Awards next month. Other features include contrasting rubber outsoles, inner lining and trims in black as well as a crisp white midsole to ground this overly eclectic shoe, even if only a tiny bit.

If you’re feeling confident about your 2020 energy, then be sure to head to Nike SNKRS come February 1 to cop these nightclub-inspired AJ-1 Mids where they will retail at $125 USD.
