Fendi's FW20 Accessories Include Hand-Knit Versions of the Baguette and Peekaboo
As well as whimsical takes on the brand’s packaging.
Fendi took Milan by storm with its latest Fall/Winter 2020 men’s collection, which included an expansive range of covetable new bags. Designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi, the new lineup updates classic styles including the Baguette and Peekaboo in playful fabrications like chunky hand-knit yarn.
The typical textile and leather upper of the Baguette, a perennial favorite, is replaced with unexpected black knit. A gold “FF” logo buckle and leather shoulder strap keeps the style looking polished. Fendi’s signature canary yellow takes center stage with a series of bags putting a luxe twist on the brand’s packaging — a shopping bag and box are rendered in leather imitating cardboard and paper. In a similar vein, drawstring pouches recalling shoe dust bags are transformed into stylish shoulder bags arriving in large and mini sizes. A final series of handbags imitate luggage trunks with metal clasp and stud detailing.
