Jeremy Scott Is the Latest Designer to Relocate Runway Show From NYFW

Telfar, Pyer Moss and Tommy Hilfiger are also missing from this season’s NYFW schedule.

Adding to the series of gaps in New York Fashion Week‘s upcoming Fall/Winter 2020 show schedule, Jeremy Scott has announced that his eponymous label will relocate its runway show to Paris — in fact, the designer will entirely skip the FW20 season. His team told WWD, “In a move to pay homage to the city that launched his design career, Jeremy Scott will show his upcoming collection in Paris in July.”

Scott is the latest to eschew New York in favor of Europe. This year, longtime New Yorker Tommy Hilfiger will show in London and Pyer Moss is notably absent from the NYFW lineup. Additionally, Telfar chose to show in Firenze during the men’s schedule earlier in January. Ralph Lauren, another NYC mainstay, has yet to confirm his Fashion Week plans.

Similarly, Tom Ford‘s runway show, scheduled during the two-day lead-up to the Oscars, will remain in Los Angeles. Scott was originally slated to show in New York on the same day as Ford’s LA affair, leading WWD to speculate that Scott’s move is an effort to avoid competition as front row stars flock to California for Hollywood’s biggest night of the year.

Stay tuned as more NYFW updates are revealed.
