Ukrainian Label MASHAT Crafts "DNA"-Inspired Collection With Telephone Wires
Spiraling details take over blazers, dresses, accessories and more.
MASHAT, an up-and-coming sustainable label based in Ukraine, has unveiled its latest collection that spans both Fall/Winter 2020 and Spring/Summer 2021 seasons. Dubbed “DNA,” the lineup features garments highlighted with spiraling details throughout.
Led by Tasha Labunskaya and Masha Varfolomeyeva, the independent name dabbles in diverse socio-cultural issues for each of its releases, ranging from mental health to diversity. The designer label also strives to reduce environmental harm by using recycled materials for its creations.
This time around, MASHAT has taken inspiration from the DNA structure, featuring spiral accessories reminiscent of telephone wires. Dress straps arrive in the form of spring-like details, which are crafted with repurposed flat wires. The same theme is spotted on a statement-making choker, as well as a blazer of which sleeves can be zipped open in a spiraling motion. Rounding off the range are loose-fitted trousers emblazoned with futuristic prints.
