Everything You Need to Know Before Watching Netflix's 'To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You'

Are you Team Peter or Team John?

Netflix‘s film adaptation of Jenny Han‘s To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before became an instant hit when it first premiered back in 2018. The movie was so successful that it became one of the streaming giant’s “most viewed original films ever with strong repeat viewing.” Shortly after its release, the platform announced the sequel, To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You, where stars Lana Condor and Noah Centineo would return as their beloved characters Lara Jean Covey and Peter Kavinsky.

Warning: This post contains spoilers.

For the second part of the To All the Boys franchise, the plot follows the story of both Lara Jean and Peter who finally get to be a legitimate couple. However, after John Ambrose McClaren (Jordan Fisher), another recipient of one of Lara Jean’s old love letters, enters her life again, she is forced to choose between her two love interests.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You will be releasing on Netflix on February 12. Ahead, we round up a few things you need to know before watching the highly anticipated film

Lara has a new love interest.

After a number of teasers and trailers released over the past few months, fans are already aware that Lara Jean will have a new love interest in the upcoming sequel. According to the film’s producer Matt Kaplan, “P.S. I Still Love You has a lot more to do with her (Lara Jean) experiencing what it’s like to have your first love and the challenges that come with reconciling your past with your partner’s past.”

Those “pasts” come in the form of Peter’s ex-girlfriend Genevieve (Emilija Baranac), as well as John Ambrose. John not only responds to Lara Jean in writing, but he also comes back into her life when he ends up volunteering at the same senior home as her.

There are new characters.

Returning cast members Anna Cathcart (Kitty), Janel Parrish (Margot), John Corbett (Dan Covey), Madeleine Arthur (Chris), Emilija Baranac (Genevieve) and Trezzo Mahoro (Lucas) will reprise their original roles in P.S. I Still Love You.

Additionally, three new faces have joined the To All the Boys family: Holland Taylor who plays Stormy, the resident grand dame of the senior home who takes Lara Jean under her wing; 13 Reasons Why actor Ross Butler as Peter’s best friend Trevor; and Sarayu Blue, Lara Jean’s neighbor and a potential love interest for her widowed father, Dan.

The third part is on its way.

Following Jenny Han’s To All the Boys book trilogy, production for the third and final installment of the film adaptation has already wrapped up. Titled Always and Forever, Lara JeanNetflix confirmed the third movie via Instagram where Condor, Centineo and Fisher are seen holding up Love Actually style whiteboards with a message saying:
