Acne Studios Introduces SS20 Campaign Featuring Swedish Artist August Strindberg's Iconic Works
Abstract patterns and muted shades splashed onto oversized blazers, trousers and more.
First unveiled on the runway last July in Paris, Acne Studios has shared an official campaign of its Spring/Summer 2020 collection. Focused around the concept of living within nature, the range features iconic Swedish writer August Strindberg’s abstract paintings of the Scandinavian country‘s landscapes.
Creative director Jonny Johansson took four paintings from Strindberg’s archive for the new range – Underlandet (Wonderland), Svartsjukans natt (The Night of Jealousy), Den ensamma giftsvampen (The Solitary Toadstool) and Staden (The Town). With an ongoing color palette of muted and pastel shades like deep brown, indigo and light blue, the paintings are splashed onto oversized blazers, loose-fitted trousers, a trench coat and halter neck linen dress. Lensed by Johnny Dufort, the SS20 campaign features models wearing the collection pieces with Strindberg’s landscape paintings as the backdrop.
