Meet Industrie Africa, the First 360-Degree Digital Platform Championing a New Era of African Designers
Offering a fresh take on regional labels.
Industrie Africa is Africa‘s leading designer platform that released back in 2018 and was founded by Parsons School of Design alumnus Nisha Kanabar. Since its launch, the brand has been using its space to spotlight African fashion design pioneers.
Following its initial success, Industrie Africa has unveiled its 2020 summer campaign featuring pieces by high-end and emerging brands like Lisa Folawiyo, Loza Maleombho, Orange Culture, Studio 189 and Tongoro and more. For a world-class online shopping experience, the label has partnered up with DHL Express to create a system that allows customers to easily search for brands by region, style and craftsmanship.
Additionally, the company’s editorial section called IMPRINT showcases the voices of individuals that represent the African fashion industry through features, style edits and original interviews. Lastly, Industrie Africa has also launched its “CONNECT” platform that “serves as an index of the industry’s most noteworthy designers,” according to a press release. Brands are selected based on their design and craftsmanship ethos, international potential and presence, industry endorsements, among others.
