Nike Unveils New SB Dunk Low Iteration Inspired by Rock Band, Grateful Dead
Featuring the group’s iconic “Marching Bears” motif.
Nike has teamed up with American rock band Grateful Dead to release a new iteration of its SB Dunk Low. Known for their psychedelic music and iconography, the sneaker features the band’s signature Steal Your Face skull and “Marching Bears,” which appear on the back cover of the group’s 1973 LP History of the Grateful Dead, Volume 1 (Bear’s Choice).
The pair’s two-toned upper has been constructed out of fuzzy faux fur and boasts smooth suede overlays. The iconic Swoosh comes in an abstract design, while the aglets have been adorned with lightning bolts. Rounding out the shoe is the cursive “Nike” font on the heel and the hidden zipper pocket found on the tongue.
Priced at $110 USD each, the “Opti Yellow/Blue Fury” and “Green Spark/Soar” colorways will be available to cop on July 24 via Nike SNKRS and at select skate shops. As for the “Opti Orange/Green Fury,” the third iteration is set to drop on July 18 at FTC.
