Lotta Volkova and adidas Originals Collaborate on Heeled adilette Mule
Along with a collection of apparel.
Stylist and fashion consultant Lotta Volkova, known for her work with Vetements, has teamed up with adidas Originals on a collection of footwear and apparel. The duo re-interpreted adidas’ archives for a contemporary take on heritage sportswear.
Volkova transforms the iconic adilette slide into a platform mule inspired by styles from the ’70s and early ’00s. Arriving in black-red and red-white colorways, the novel shoe retains the adidas Trefoil logo and Three Stripes at the strap. Also in footwear, the adidas SL72 sneaker is reimagined in all-white and red-white-blue iterations.
As for apparel, a series of asymmetric bodysuits and tops in bright colors are reminiscent of retro aerobics gear while a flared turtleneck dress interprets ice-skating outfits. Wide-leg track pants pair with a pastel track jacket, and a utilitarian jumpsuit features zipper detailing at the hips and chest. Rounding out the collection are a bubblegum pink tennis bag and Three Stripes leg warmers.
The Lotta Volkova x adidas Originals collection launches on August 13 at the adidas website. Check out the lookbook for the collaboration above.
