Halsey's "929" Music Video Gives Fans a Glimpse of Her Childhood
The song marks the singer’s birth date and time.
Halsey has dropped a music video for “929,” a track titled after her date of birth (September 29) and birth time (9:29 a.m.) Off Halsey’s latest album Maniac, the song reflects on the singer’s childhood and path to fame.
“I really was born at 9:29 a.m. on 9/29. You think I’m lying but I’m being dead serious,” Halsey says in an opening voiceover. Combining tour footage with home movies documenting Halsey as a toddler, the visual travels through sets staged to look like a child’s bedroom. Old photographs and clips are projected onto the walls as Halsey delivers the song’s melancholy lyrics.
